Newbie Headlight Issue

Hey guys,

First post at audizine, after many years at maxima.org. So I just picked up an 03 1.8T last week, so far its been alrite.

I'm having one issue with the headlight, I am from Ontario, and my daylight running lights do not turn on. It is my understanding that when the dial is on the '0' the daylight running light should come on. However, only the fog light is on at the '0' position. When I switch to 'parking light' position, same thing, only the fog light is on. HID works fine and the fog light turns off at this dial position.

Also, the green parking light indicator at the dash stays on all the time. I guess this is normal?

Yup - for the B6 series, the foglights act as the DRL in Canadian model Audi's. Side effect of this is that the green light stays on all the time. Fog light turns on when the HID's are on low beam by pulling the headlight switch out one notch.

^what he said.. our DRL is the fogs + side markers.. which i like personaly better then the american version.
