Video pulling 1.54 60 ft and 6.94 at 103.3 mph. The car in the other lane is a old toyota celica which ran 11.0 at 135 mph with a 1.9 60 ft and a better reaction time.




Just went there to test the new shift light which is set to 8200 rpm. Was also testing to see if I can run more then 32psi but no matter how much I turned up the EBC the boost would not go any higher. Put the EBC back to 32psi and made that last run launching hard to the 1/8th.

Thanks. I figure I was on pace for a 10.6 if I would have stayed in it, sad part is that I still ran 11.2 and might end up getting kicked out of the class. Well I wont know till tomorrow.

I had to make one hard launch, my other 3 runs were rolling off the line with 2.2-2.4 60 ft times. I have those on video too.

For AWD it is around 1.53-1.55 x the 1/8th ET depending on how much power the car is making and if it is setup to finish at its peak hp. My old best was 6.96 and ran 10.69.

I will have to check my logs of that hard launch, my other runs were only part throttle off the line. When I go WOT in 2nd gear on those runs I hit 32psi in 2nd.


Let me know what you think I hit in 1st gear on the video, 30psi is at 3 o'clock, 35psi at 4 o'clock and 40psi at 5 o'clock on the gauge.

It has been setup since 034 installed my IIc a few years ago, I just dont use it anymore since I can pull 1.5 without it.

now what about getting real nifty and setting up the anti-lag to work between shifts so that the turbo lag is virtually eliminated. im just throwing ideas out there cause when youre running 10.6, im gonna guess every little advantage could help to get that 10.5 or better...

What is the tire setup? I assume you are still running the 17" SL's.

Hard to do that when shifting at 8k+ rpm. Right now I never get out of boost during normal shifts and there isn't really any lag.

Plus I like not having to replace the tranny every time I go to the track. In 8 years of drag racing this car I have only had to replace 1 trans and right now I am running my OEM 1.8 trans that came with the car.

Well, Mike had been letting it rip all day today, first pass this morning (final qualifying) was 10.7 @ 136 spinning through first...

Then in the first pass of eliminations he went 10.5 @ 133 with a 1.5x 60 foot.

Mike, if you need a tougher tranny, look no further than the venerable old 016.

It was the 5-speed fitted to all type 85 (B2) models, as well as the type 44 (C3).

You won't bust one of those, they're also tougher than the 01E 6-speed.

Thanks for the info. Maybe it will be something I will have to look into when I try to make more power if my stock trans cant handle it.
