Passenger Side Mirror Question

I am wondering if anyone can offer some insight into this...i trashed my passenger side mirror last night backing out of my garage and discovered that there are 2 wires connected to the glass itself. I am assuming these are for the heated mirror function...the thing is my car apparently doesnt have that function. how would i enable that feature?

heated mirrors turn on when you turn on the rear or front defrost, forget which one.

pretty sure its rear.

word to big bird.....i'll check it out....thanks. i had a b5 passat and that would turn on when you center the control switch.
