    Unhappy 2.0 T single exaust

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    This is a real disappointment. My wife has a 2003 A4 1.8 and I have a 2003 A4 3.0.

We went to test drive both of the new models and preferred the 2.0 but she is so disapointed with the single exaust she wants to go the the 3.0; In my view it's a waste of money + the extra cost for gas. She also wants a stick which isn't available for the 3.0

Are there any aftermarkets kits available to has duals, which Audi should have done or if they wanted to cut costs they could have offers duals as an option.

It's such a beautifull car but to us the single exaust really cheapens the car up.

    Re: 2.0 T single exaust

hahaha omg. you're turning down a car solely because it only has single-sided exhaust? that is silliness. there are aftermarket kits to make it dual. Reiger is one of them I believe.

i have the 2.0t, and got exhaust tips for it from audi, and it looks awesome. i think it added 10hp also. it's not such a big deal to have have both side exhausts. you could get the s-line rear valence, which makes the rear end look awesome. check out blake p's car.

    http://audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=244396

this is my first audi, and i love it. all the features that come with the prestige > single sided exhaust.

Real disappointment? WTF. It's not worth the price difference to go 3.2 just for the dual exhaust.

Im with the op he is right about how it cheapens the look. I could live without my dual exhaust, but should you really have to put exhaust tips on a 40k+ car. Thats kind of disappointing.

a 40k car with a 2.0 engine. not the biggest engine in the world.

my ex's clk55 amg came with single sided exhaust. and it was not a cheap car. it probably would have costed $20,000 more for the double sided exhaust. wink*

    silliness i tell ya.

    Re: 2.0 T single exaust

although i've come to accept the b5 style single sided exhaust on the new A4 (and being let down by audi in general), it was just an unnecessary downgrade on Audi's part. sure, BMW has one sided exhaust and offers dual on their higher end engines, but it doesn't mean audi should follow them, or somehow try to boost sales of the 3.2 by offering dual exhaust as an option only on the 3.2.
and the fact that they make you purchase tips so it can actually look decent on a car that now starts at almost 3k more than its predecessor is just a kick in the teeth.
I thought we were past this, Audi (and VW!).

I didn't even notice the tips were not on there when i bought (actually leased) the car. But I am one of those guys that gets whiplash from looking back at my car and now I sorta want to get the tips. But I agree, a Premium plus model and above should not have to go out and buy tips.

Haha I love how everyone praises Audi for keeping their costs under such competitors as BMW and Mercedes Benz and then chastise them for stupid stuff like this. You would be some kind of idiot to move into a 3.2 JUST because it had the dual exhaust. If you want to keep costs low, you must be prepared to accept changes like these.

Or...spend a hundred (or two) for the rear valance from the 3.2 or 3.2 S-Line (or wait for the S4 Valance), and pop it on (and have a shop add that side) if it really bothers you...

So when do the low costs come in? Because priced out the A4 costs more than it's 3 Series counterpart.

    Re: 2.0 T single exaust

Im just going to point out a few things to everyone:
A: its a 3.2 not a 3.0 and your right they dont make it in a stick
B: the s-line exhaust tips DO NOT add 10hp... not in the least, you would need cats for it to really make a difference the dealer lied to you straight up...
C: BMW 3 series going option to option is about the same price, you have to remember to add in the very costly but still less efficient Xi system that BMW has...
D: where can I sign up for that rear valence and exhaust from stasis cause im going dual ASAP
and lastly E: your wife shouldnt care that much about an exhaust tip, the S60R from volvo was the flagship for a few years and it had a single sided exhaust with no tips, and that thing was almost 50k depending on options...

goodluck and hope you make a good decision for you and your wife!

Audi is not getting cheap look at the torque you get 258 the mmi technology the Quattro and the fit and finish of the car and you complain about a dual tip exhaust, Audi gives you the top safety pick car for 4 years in a row. plus the best Mpg in its class should i go on , i think not

On a 4 cylinder a single exhaust is more than enough. Dual is over kill and release all the necessary back pressure, THAT is a not a downgrade, sir.

plus audi's bringing b8 back to the b5 styling, which is pretty bad boy~
i bet there are a handful of people on here would agree with me that only b5 can rock the bad boy image to the fullest~
Personally, i think single exhaust looks awesome on b8's.
and WELL, if you have the money to buy audi, just spend some more urself to change it to dual if u really hate singles... or buy some other stuffs??? LOL

audi did really good with b8 designing, and im planning to trade in my '08 b7 in the near future...or not? but be happy with b8!
