Strange hum noise in low RPM under load

This is really hard to explain, I don't know if you'll know exactly what's going on...

I can hear a weird humming (not a normal sound) in my car when I accelerate under load (pedal way down) and in a low gear. So if I am doing 5-10 mph and am in second, floor it, you'll hear the turbo spool and then you'll hear this weird harmonic weird hum. If you let off the gas it you'll hear the DV, but this is strange. Is it something in the engine? Maybe my fuel filter (even though its less than 5k miles old)? What? I guess I should really take it in to someone who knows Audi's and have them go for a test drive :)

You might have a boost leak, have you tried testing for it? I have a simillar sound myself. Trying to narrow down the culprit.

I'm pretty certain that was the issue. I haven't extensively driven it yet to see, but I can say that my power steering reservoir was like EMPTY. I saw some at the bottom, but i was way below the LOW. I got some from the VW dealer by me and topped it off. I was low on brake fluid too which I fixed. I did go to my local Napa and they said that my coolant was this one kind. This silver bottle (I gotta look its in the car) that has red fluid in it. I didn't want to mix it in with my reservoir yet without confirming that it is the G12 thing that I should have. Anyhow. I will post up on this thread if the noise wasn't from the power steering.

    THANKYOU

Do a search for driveshaft vibration. It's to much load and not enough revs which causes the driveshaft to vibrate in the center support bearing.

Driveshaft on a FWD? Hmm... I'll do some searching anyhow.

    Here's an update:
It seems that the noise occurs between 2000rpm and 2500rpm. If I am in any gear at lets say 5000rpm and I let off the gas and slowly let the car decelerate, as it reaches 2500rpm, the noise will appear, then diminish at 2000rpm's. What the hell it is, I am not sure yet. Otherwise, the car drives perfectly fine.
