I broke off the vacuum line that comes off the "top" of the DV today. Is the car still driveable without loss of performance?

car is is drivable, but a lot of performance loss. you actually wont be boosting at all. I would not recommend driving it at all

^wrong. without that vac source he'll have a small (probably unnoticeable) vac leak... but his DV won't open and it will cause compressor surge.

drive as LITTLE as possible, try not to boost if you have to drive, and replace asap.

well, i guess if you have a small leak on the vac line, but mine popped off quite a bit before i finally secured it and I couldnt build boost. my DV (EvoMS) would flutter like crazy.

    either way, it's not good.

i see your point - i guess the difference is that he has a OEM DV, making him not building boost more likely. when i had the line pop off it was with my forge... so it wasn't opening as opposed to opening easier.

either way OP, get it fixed. really, go ahead and get a metal DV of some type so that you can avoid further problems down the line. even if you never upgrade anything else on your car, this is like replacing a radiator with shitty plastic tanks (cough hondas coughcough) with something like a koyo aluminum radiator... it costs more, but you're not going to have to deal with the same problem again later on.
