    Boost problem

I got chipped last week and finally got my boost gauge installed today in the snow. Initially I was only seeing 10psi. Not a spike, but it would hit 10 psi and stop like a brick wall, then hold it till it tappered off. I went and ran some logs with a buddy, which i'll post below. After that, the car was warmed to the middle of c and h, at this point, i got on it a little and seen 14psi then tapper. After a 1st and 2nd gear pull, only seeing 14psi tops, the car was again, back at the mark right above cold, and oil temp was back to around 150 and car wouldnt boost more then 10 psi.

I am guessing this is the t-stat. No biggie, i'll change it tomorrow.

Point being is, I am suppose to be holding 17-18psi with a 20 spike. Other then doing a boost leak check, what are some other things to check, considering my boost hits a brick wall, doesnt spike, doesnt hit 20 then fall quick, it hits the given number like a brick wall.

I have scanned, got no codes on vag com, but my readiness still says cat fails.

Here are the logs, car is a 99.5. thanks in advance, would really like some ideas, n75, n294, boost leak test obviously, just some things to run through while i go over the car tomorrow with a buddy of mine.

you shouldnt be spooling the turbo up at all till your temp gauge is pointing straight up and your oil temp is at least 175 unless you want to have no turbo in a few weeks. i still have my stock ko3 at 128,xxx miles pushing 18 psi you just have to be gentle and take it slow. dont boost till the engine AND oil are warm. you may want to check your n75 valve and the couplers on your front mount if you have one. also check the throttle position with the vag com. its under engine block 003 should say 86.8% at WOT if you are drive by cable.

Did you not read the logs i posted? I am at that throttle angle. I dont beat on my car without it being warm. The car is warm, the heat is warm and the oil is up to 175ish.. as for the temp gauge pointing straight up, that NEVER happens in my car, except when i sit in one spot for 20 mins like i was in my buddies driveway last night. as soon i took off the temp gauge started to cool off as did the oil temp gauge.

Today I did a leak test for boost, found 1 leak and fixed it. changed my plugs out and hooked my boost gauge up fully (the electrical side of it). I now boost 13-14 psi like I did the 10 before.

I checked the n75, from what I have read, it checked out okay.
