Just did 034 phelonic spacers today...

I've had these in my trunk for 6 months now and decided to finally put them on. It took me about 2 hours and I think I figured out a way to save a ton of aggravation so I thought I would share. The hard part is trying to get the spacers (gasket>phelonic>gasket) to sit in the correct spot when you put the IM back on top of it. I left the F-hose attached to the IM and propped it up like a hood once the fuel rail was off the car. I put 3 bolts into the IM and put all 3 pieces of the phelonic/gaskets on each side then zip tied it all on loosely. I positioned the IM/Phelonics into place and then threaded the 3 bolts. I clipped the zip ties and wala! Perfect placement no hassle. The IM was ice cold after 20 minutes of spirited driving and the heads were "almost gonna burn me hot". It felt much more consistent.

Next is the H-sport f/r sways...

EIther I caught a small boost leak or these things make a little difference. It felt better, no doubt.

    -re-seal oil pan lol

but when the intake mani is off for the auxil pump i think im throwing on a pair of VASTs spacers... thanks for the review.

I've held VAST's in my hands before and they look......different. The $85 for the 034 with 4 oem gaskets is a great price and a great product. They work. They also include the longer bolts you need. VAST's looked too big. THey also looked like they were cut out of some wood/composite paneling. Just my take. VAST rocks but the 034 phelonics took the cake when I saw both side by side.

vasts are too big. they screw up the geometry of the intake pipes.

Re: Just did 034 phelonic spacers today...

Those spacers are one of the best mods you can possibly get your car.

As a heads up, The vast spacers are twice as thick as the 034 spacers. However, the vast spacers are no where near as nicely done as the 034's. I have no idea which one is better...... bigger isn't necessarily better.

ECS has a nice set of the plastic style similar to the newsouth ones. Those definitly worked on my old 1.8t. More power? Dunno.

But it was nice not burning myself on the intake manifold every time i worked on a hot car.

I put in a set of southbend phenolic spacers when I did my auxiliary water pump, and there's definitely a difference, even if it is a small one

I haven't dealt with 034's 2.7T parts, but if they're the same quality as all the other stuff they make, it's top notch. They get my vote and recommendation for a parts supplier.

I'm not trash talkin VAST, I just think 034 does a better job for the money.
