Who has a high mileage S4?

bought at 98,000 km. Now at 106,000 km. So far so good.

I am the second owner of my 2001 S4. The original owner put 105K on the car, the first year he owned it. He was some kind of sales rep that had to drive state to state. He maintained it perfectly. Some where after that first year, and 150K, he went through and upgraded just about everything. Went with RS4 clutch/mounts, K04 turbos, GHL/Supersprint exhaust, and Bilstein/ABT suspension.

I bought the car with 150K, and it now has 175K. The time that I have had it, I upgraded the intercoolers, complete stage 3 fueling, and finished up with a nice water/meth setup.

To this day, she is a blast to drive, and has never left me stranded. A lot of guys in my local forum will come to me, just to have a bit more confidence in these cars. So many people are scared of S4s, due to fears of maintenance costs. Well, I have been the proud owner of a high mileage, high horsepower S4.

She is for sale, but only because I am ready for my next project.

Mine is 2 and a half years old, and has 56,000 km, so it's not "high mileage" as yet. But at this rate, it certainly will be soon!

got a 2005 S4 with 85,000 and hmmm.... had a new engine put in it from burning oil. Good thing for Cert. warranty! It came out to be $25,000 for this new motor! But other then that i love the car LOL

I have about 85K miles on mine now. Runs great. Trying to decide whether to sell it before it hits 90K miles. I dunno. I figure I could only get about 16,000 bucks for my car so I may keep it.

Bought 05.5 with 39Kish in July 07, now has 72,xxx miles and no problems AT ALL except of course for 3 coil packs.... ;/

Mine's an '04, and I have about 58k. No major issues - knock on wood. I plan on keeping this puppy for a long while though. I love it, and since Audi hasn't seen fit to bring the new B8 S4 Avant or an RS4 Avant to the US, this one will be in my garage for a while.

Bought in 06 with 45k, now 69k. Replaced coil packs; about to replace idler pully/AC compressor/starter motor/serp belt/clutch as clutch is about to go.

Is that something that has to be replaced with time or only when it breaks? Isn't that the biggest bo-bo that goes wrong with the S4? Is that the cost to replace the worn whatever or is that the price when something broke

I'll know more on monday as its heading in for the repairs... No serious breakage but you can clearly hear the knocking at warm idle. I think it is just a failed plastic tensioner from wear but we will know for sure soon. It seems like mine is a rare case as many people are getting more than 100k out of the tensioners, it probably depends on how the car has been maintained.

Nope but I think I saw you when I was leaving Panera off beaver. You should gimme a ride some time I've never even been in one. Many M3's but no S4's
