    Preventing the inevitable

There is a grinding noise coming from out of the drivers side wheel well from 1200-1600 rpms, after that i can't hear it. And under boost my turbos sound like a dentist drill. Sounds like when my KO3's when they went. Now I run a stage 3- setup with PJKO4's and GIAC stage 3 software. So basically I want to know is there anything I can do to prevent or delay the inevitable? Can't afford another swap.

Bought them used from someone I know and he had 2000 miles on them and didnt have a problem. I had the for probly a month. Im guessing maybe another 2000 miles. Noticed the grinding noise after about 2 weeks of having them.

did you see if there was any play in the shaft when you put them in? did he have any evidence that there were only 2000 miles on them? seems truly odd that someone would pull them after only 2000 miles. i do 2000 miles a in a months time. Think only thing you can do is get them rebuilt again. depending on what turbine is grinding i have a set of propellers for k04 if interested (used but not bent).

Well he went bigger. (A beast of a S4) And he runs a shop so he put them in for me because I am not inclined to do so or have the tools. so have no evidence of shaft play or miles. With a rebuild I'm still not getting a reliable option on a daily driver.

Go back and shove those turbos down his throat. The dentist drill this early is inexcusable. He should install K04s for you again free of charge.

Well I have no warranty and for all he knows I beat the living shit out the turbos in the month I've had them.

stop driving or buy GIAC and switch to valet mode. either way you're grandma status until the foreseeable future.

You should be able to beat the living shit out of the turbos for 2000 miles without them blowing...especially with an OTS GIAC tune. your clutch and drivetrain might be a different story though. Call them and demand free labor at least, then you just have to pay for a turbo rebuild.
