3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Does anyone know if the 3.2 Sline rear valance will fit onto the 2.0T?

Or the 2.0T Sline rear valance fit onto a non-sline rear bumper?

I know for the B7 A4/S4, they were all interchangeable.

I too am curious about the compatibility of the Sline and non-Sline rear diffusers. I am skeptical because the Sline rear bumper has a character band that looks like a crease that puffs out just above the top edge of the diffuser. Non-Sline bumpers on both the Sedan and the Avant do not have this.

Not sure, but I'll eventually try to put a 3.2 S Line diffuser on my 2.0T S line to accomodate quad tips since it would require less trimming.

it will fit but the driver side has to be modified to fit dual instead of single. In my opinion it won't look like since 2.0t is single & 3.2 is dual

How about for the Avant? Since they're dual.

should be the same like i have posted above. All the a4 is using same chassis, so it doesn't mean the rear bumper is made differently for 2.0t or 3.2 it just different rear valance so i wouldn't see any problem swapping out.

No, the S-line rear bumper is not the same, so you can't just swap diffusers like the B7.

I ordered the s line 2.0 valance to put on my non s line a4 and it did not fit!!! Not even close to trim a bit. S line models have totally different bumpers so the valance is different also.... sorry guys i wish it would have fit also!

    Damn that's bad news.

However, there is some aftermarkets rear valance that are out for the non sline.

Re: 3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

The rear bumper of the S-Line is different from that of the standard A4. The differences are subtle, but they do mean that the rear diffuser for an S-Line and non-Sline are not interchangeable.
That said, the rear diffuser for the 3.2 S-Line and the 2.0T S-Line are in fact interchangeable.
In less than 2 weeks, I will be heading to Stasis to have the final bits and pieces from the Challenge package installed in my 2009 A4 S-Line. Stasis will be chipping the car, and also installing their new stainless steel exhaust. Since the new exhaust is dual/split exhaust, it's necessecary to replace the diffuser from the 2.0T with the diffuser from the 3.2.
Stasis is also going to try to help me solve a bit of a camber problem with my car. It seems that while the A4 performs brilliantly on the road, if you push it very hard on the track, even with a set of very sticky 265x30x19 Toyo R888 tires, you can expect the car to end up riding on the sidewalls a bit. To solve this problem, we'll be experimenting with a slightly different spring and bump-stop combination that should introduce about 1 - 1.5 degrees of negative camber into all 4 wheels of the car. This minor change should really dial in the handling of this car, and it should add several MPH, and more consistent tire consumption to the car.
    We'll see...
For anyone that is interested, the new car will be at Laguna Seca for the Audi Club driving event on Feb 15-17, 2009. If you have not registered, come on and enjoy some track time at Laguna Seca. See www.audiclubgoldengate.org for details.

Re: 3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

Funny how some want more camber and others want less?! I'm cambered -2 degrees at each corner, but not necessarily by choice. Dropping the car to the point where there's no gap in the fenders put my camber slightly out of spec and won't be great for tire wear, but the handling is wonderful.

Re: 3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

so the sline 3.2 rear valance doesn't fit the 2.0 but does the regular 3.2 valance fit the reg 2.0t valance?? and can anyone check if the 2.0t even has the hangers to have a duel exhaust put on???
The question is, when you turn on your car, does it return the favor?

Yeah the S line uses the same front and rear bumpers as the S4. Unfortunate since I want that S4 rear too. It goes in line with the design theme I'm going with. I'll just have to get me some S line bumpers.

I have an 09 A4 2.0T S-line. Im wanting to go with Stasis's dual/split exhaust but need the diffuser/ valance with two openings.
Where did you find the diffuser for the dual setup. Im assuming its just the factory 3.2 diffuser but my dealership says they dont carry an s line 3.2 diffuser. Any ideas

Re: 3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

I just went through this procedure as i recently went with AWE's dual exit single tip exhaust (2 tips, not quad).

My car is a 2009 A4 2.0T S-Line. I needed the rear valence from the 3.2, or I could have went with the rear valence from the B8 S4 had I chosen to go with a quad tip set-up.

There is no difference between a 3.2 rear valence and a 3.2 S-Line rear valence.

Wrong! There IS a difference. You purchased a 3.2 S-Line valence, not a standard 3.2 valence.

S-Line (and S4) rear valences (regardless of engine) will ONLY fit other S-Line rear bumpers.

    Cut-outs Aside....
    2.0 S-Line = 3.2 S-Line = S4
    2.0 Standard = 3.2 Standard

Re: 3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

    So, to recap:

If we have a NON-S line A4, the 2.0T and 3.2 rear valances are interchangeable, no modding needed.

If you own an S-Line (2.0T or 3.2) or S4, all of their rear valances are interchangeable.

    Is that correct?

Yes, that sounds correct. The only caveat is that you need some fasteners (according to AWE) to install the S4 valence onto a S-Line A4 (2.0 or 3.2).

yes. non-sline valances are interchangeble on non-sline cars ONLY. S-line cars can use s-line valances or s4 valance.

wow, first time I've seen the 3.2 sline rear valance, nice and simple...wished it was direct swap with non sline...would be a nice cosmetic mod for 3.2 A4s

I stand corrected then. I was simply going by what John Voss of AWE told me. He ordered all of the parts for me and shipped everything as one kit.

I then had the rear 3.2 S-Line valence painted to match the rest of the car....it just didn't look right sitting there like a gray sore thumb.

I believe you can pick up a S-line bumper + quad tip valence from OEM.plus for under $700.

I was under the assumption that STaSIS provides the necessary OEM parts to fit their exhaust, regardless if you have S Line or not.

Any pics of how this came out? Haven't seen a picture of a match painted rear valance yet.

Dude, very nice! Guessing the local shop did the valance and dual exhaust addition at the same time, you just showed up with it painted?

DSB - very rare on these forums, you should post more pics! :)

Only thing I think would make it better - replace the center gray piece with a real mesh weave in gloss or satin black :P

Thanks for the compliment. BarTuning received the parts directly from AWE Tuning. From there they used a nearby autobody place that they deal with regularly to paint the valence for me. But after the paint dried, yes the shop installed the valence and exhaust at the same time....and the AWE FMIC too

I'm waiting on a less expensive HFC and then I'll put that in as well. I'm actually digging the Lusch front grille without those fugly pillar-type things. Then when the warranty runs out I'll think about doing a BT kit and engine build....but that's pretty far down the road still.

I'd be diggin the Lusch grill w/out the teeth as well if it weren't for the huge Lusch logo on it. I'm waiting anxiously for someone to release a honeycomb grill lol

As far as the paint goes, did you have to supply the paint code yourself or is that kind of info in the public domain?

make sure you quote the exact paint code and don't just refer to it as '09 "Brilliant Red" or "Phantom Black" at your paint shop....there are many shades of each and I've heard when people just quote the common name they may just choose one of the shades randomly.

Re: 3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

Well....after much debating. Stasis vs AWE exhaust. Def going with AWE. More options, better prices, better forumn reviews. But do I go with the dual single or the dual quad tip. The dual single fits into the s-line valance. The quad fits into the S4 valance. I think The s-line valance is def more attractive (honeycomb inlay) but god I want the quad tips. Go to AWE-tuning.com to check out the pics. They do a great job of showing all the options. WOuld love some feedback. Danka

Re: 3.2 Sline rear valance fit onto 2.0T?

In my opinion (which isn't worth much, I know) I would not put a quad-tip exhaust on a 4 cylinder car. To me it's trying to tell a story about a car that isn't true....and it's overkill really.

I like the appearance of the quad-tip set-up ala S4 but couldn't justify getting it for the reasoning I just gave.

Also, if cost is a factor....quad-tip costs more, as does the S4 valence (by about $150)

The 3.2 S-line valence is ~$110 but the S4 valence has two parts to it: the valence itself ~$140 and the polished "blade" insert trim piece, which costs another ~$150 on its own. To me it just wasn't worth it.
