hey guys ive been in search of an a6 for a while now.. somthing black or silver with a nice color interior the 2.8 or the 4.2 motor for under 10 grand, well i stumbled upon one at a local dealer whom if fairly new and is just a small timer that does buy here pay here etc. he has a 2001 a6 2.8 black with a dark brownish interior with 114k for 7495, now the kicker is idk if he has records for the car or not.. think that price is ok?

    Re: little input

If I was you I would test drive a 4.2 before buying the 2.8. I did and right there and then made the decision to buy the 4.2. The 2.8 struggles with the car's weight. if performance is not on your list then go ahead. If tuning is on your agenda get the 2.7T as neither of the N/A engines offer many tuning options.

    Re: little input

i hear you, i saw a pearl one withthe tan interior and it didn't do the car justice, ended up buying a silver on black leather. don't forget that the 4.2 has the wide body too!!!

    Re: little input

Yea don't settle for the car around the corner.. You will be dissapointed that you didn't pick your car, and driving the 2.8

    Try cars.com as well.
Just as many deals as Autotrader.

You can always hop on a train or plane for less then $150 one way if your only going 200 miles....It is WELL worth it for the right car..... and you get a nice road trip home....
    Plus no service records??

Good Luck hope you get the car you want...

    What about the 3.0?

15 seconds and found 45 to chose

G Man -- that's an excellent deal at asking price; looks nice; good news on tranny and bonus is the sway, rims, along with lights. Far cry from a 2.8. Whew, that was a close call! Would have given new meaning to Turkey day.

Sounds like Geneva to me (or Seneca Falls?) -- I used to work in Geneva (don't ask when) and lived in a village you know of b/c of the tavern in center of town -- "The Rongovian Embassy to the USA" (and don't pretend you don't know the bar )

Why not just rent a car one way?

Every car we've bought out of state, and thats most of our cars, we go over and over the car on the phone, pics, etc...by the time we commit we're ready to buy so long as the seller is truthful when we get there.

We rent a car and leave it in the city where we picked up the car. Done this countless times and Enterprise has unlimited miles and 1/2 off for weekends. Cost you about $75 to rent a car and drive it down there.

thanks guys.. i was googling and found a few bus trip but they were like 11 hours long!! i finally found one to take me right into boston!! 65 bucs one way and its about 7 hours.. i was planning on renting a car but i would have to pay an additional 47 dollars because i am 23 plus gas so i would wind up payin over 100 bucs for a rental when i could just ride the bus for 65, or if i get a passenger 130 so not too bad!! cant wait.. i have seen pics of the car and have had countless e mails with the guy, i asked for copies of the recods of the services done hopefully i will be getting them by email shortly.. if everything has been done like he says it has been then i think im gettin a great deal!!

Jlaw is on Audiworld, and is who's car you are looking at. Go to those forums, and you will see the countless threads he is in, started, and contributed to. I do not know him, but I would say you are picking up a true Audi enthusiast car that has been well taken care of. Good Luck
