Forge 001: Still gettin Comp Surge

    Quick question:
So last week, I relocated my BOV to the cold side of my IC, only a few inches from the TB. But I'm still getting some compressor surge, which obviously really worried me. I'm currently running a Forge 001 single piston Blow Off Valve. Will these accept the same range of springs that the 007 DV's will? I think I might need to try a softer spring, since I'm running less than 15psi. If not, will I have to upgrade?.....i really want this issue to finally go away

Hmmm, are you sure it's compressor surge?

Checked your boost gauge during throttle lift?

Re: Forge 001: Still gettin Comp Surge

What else could it be? And what should I look for in the boost gauge?

It sounds exactly like comp surge.....fluttering noise travelling through the system at throttle lift

Re: Forge 001: Still gettin Comp Surge

i think it's probably just some flutter from the diverter valve staying closed at boost levels that low. i'd bet the softer spring would let it open fully instead of forcing the air back through the compressor.

It's much more common than you think to mix the two
