sorry boys and girls. i did a search and found nothing on the forum. does anybody know why some 2.0t's have the "t" in red while some others don't? is it a special line package? thank you.

The general consensus is all 2.0t's had the red T at first, but I think after 2006 they switched it back to chrome. It didn't signify anything unlike the B5 days.

I believe someone said that if you have the Red "T" then you have 50 more hp than the chrome "T".

I wouldn't waste any time on the dyno checking it out.


(Things change from year to year...simple as that - the only difference is that the red "t" is red, and the chrome "t" is chrome...can you accept that? - I hope so...otherwise you might believe the first answer - if you think there is a chance the first answer is true - I suggest you buy a red "t" and stick it on to give yourself the extra power!)

When I purchased my vehicle the dealer told me the red T did not mean anything. It was just a cosmetic change for the 2006 vehicles.

That's because there are always gonna be some e-thugs with their know-it-all attitude and that always starts arguments. They feed their ego with sarcastic comments that lead nowhere. You know sarcasm is seen as an act of immaturity in many parts of the world, but here in the US it's an act of genius, I don't get it.

There actually is one thing I will say in the OP's defense......as much as it hurts to support someone who obviously didn't search hard enough........the stupid-ass Search function won't let you use words that are 3 characters or less.....why the HELL does it do this? Searching for "Red 2.0 T" isn't allowed........a wise man once did this, which I find myself doing now:

I was just going to say that the search function in the majority of forums is quite useless unless you know exactly what words to search for. There's always some stupid rules like these words were omitted or something. Could someone make a sticky on ways to get around these blatant attempts to hamper our searching efforts? That way we all know how to properly utilize the search function.
