Did some calculations, Max MPH 5spd vs 6spd

[A4 Meets 27t]

Well as you guys might know I got my hands on a A4 will be swapping in the 27T motor. I couldn't find any threads on max MPH so I used a tool I found online. Here are the results:

Trans 1 = S4 6spd
Trans 2 = A4 2.8 5spd

I used a 7200rpm redline and standard 17in size tires:



Looks like it will be a slightly quicker with the 5spd once we get the RS6 turbo on there. Pretty interesting that 3rd gear ends at the same mph. But look at 4th gear . I hope the swap goes smoothly as possible I will keep you guys posted on that.

Yea, I couldnt find any charts to compare so I made my own, to see how my 5spd will be compared to the 6spd. Seems like there wont be much difference until the top of 4th and 5th, at those speeds it really wont matter unless Im trying to set a world record or something.

From what Ive read the 5spd 1-2 shift pretty solid as compared to the 6spd, so we shall see. I just hope there are some solid stage 3 clutch kits for the 5spd. Gotta shop around and research.

jaybquick@JHM has made a rebuild video on the 6speed tranny . He might be able to give you some info.
