    Very SLOW GTRS "build"

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
going with the GTRS Eliminator with Eurodyne (Chris Tapp) tuning down the road, Im starting to get the parts and prices together early.

So far the list is: (required)
    GTRS Eliminator Turbo
    Software
    Siemmens 630cc Injectors
    FMIC
    Test Pipe

Apperantley the software doesnt require a AFPR or bigger MAF, but I may still get them in case. Im also looking at a exhaust manifold, intake (w/ 3" MAF), fuel pump & rail, GIAC TIP chip, ect.

    current mods:
    Eurodyne ECU
    Borla V1

the car is a tip and daily driver (110 miles round trip daily), so it'll be a slow build.

    Input and advise welcome.

ig you are going eliminator stick with the stock manifold... less likely to crack and give you problems... and its free!

Id say 2.5" thick at least. I definitely want to hear how your tranny holds up with the injectors and that turbo. How many miles do you have on your car?

    Re: Very SLOW GTRS "build"

I currently have 121,443 miles exactly. The transmission and MPG are the two things Im looking at closely. 630cc seems a bit agressive for stock pump and FPR, so I'll be buying those just in case.

would any test pipe bolt up to the turbo?

I haven't had any problems with my setup yet but then again my turbo is a little different a puts out less power. I'll post up a picture on how to hook it up when I get home later.

thanks for showing interest. it will be a slow build though. Im fixing my heater next week and then will do a test pipe and maybe rotors or sway bars. im just piecing things together and planning ahead to try to avoid problems. Also i dont to spend all the money at once.

    here is the MBC

If i were to give a ball park on the date, id say next spring at the earliest or when the k03 blows.

what turbo are you looking at with your set up?

btw your sig reminded me about the heater. just set up a date to fix it with Avalon. after that is done, the stock up of parts can begin.

for the IC piping, what diameter is the GTRS inlet and would the charge pipe for a k03 FMIC set-up connect to the 'RS?

    Re: Very SLOW GTRS "build"

Cool build! i am doing a similar setup.

I have a 97 A4 automatic and the turbo died and have the following which i have/was going to put on the 97

    GTRS
    Genesis 415cc @ 3bar
    Racetec Intercooler
    Techtonics Exhaust
    Forge007
    CAI + hoses

    And getting a test pipe

But I'm going to do it right and find a 99.5 A4 1.8TQM and swap everything.

I have been reading about the 3" MAF Housing and it makes sense, but Revo/Unitronics dont really have any specs on what is required for their software.

Giac does not have software for the GTRS nor does APR (From what i understand). So i may have to get the Revo which i have read runs good. (Dont know much about the Chris Tapp Tune)

The GT28RS might have been a better option since the turbo itself is cheaper, but a new exhaust manifold and test pipe would be needed. You may want to consider it It might come out to be around the same price with more power

I also have considered it, but I wonder if putting a BAT on an A4 would be really worth it having an A/T.

Its a small BT. K03 flange, "bolt in", stock manifold, ect.. flows about 350bhp. I was told a few times its the biggest turbo you SHOULD run on a Tiptronic. can run it with a lot of the same bolt-ons you'd do for a K03/K04.

So do we think a 2871r is too much? AudiRacerS4 ran his 2871r with a stock tip other then a tip chip for awhile until he built it with IPT, didn't he? I'm curious because I'm ready to go bt and I know I can go all out I am definitely ready for an upgrade thats more then a k04.

Yeah and most of them have had work down to them iirc. Like modified valve bodies, new torque converters, race rebuilds...

$700 for tuning. It is simply flashed in thru the OBD port.

Hate to revive my old thread but I was wondering if I can run a HFC with the GTRS or do I need a TP?

Im running with LaBree's HFC, on my GT2871r, it has good flow and doesnt smell as bad as a TP. Only wish that it was 3 inches all the way. But other than that I love it. Make sure you get a anti-fouler for the post-cat O2 sensor or it your tune is tuned for it.

okay thanks. yeah my tune can allow for a TP/HFC. I think the 034 HFC is 3", i might go with that.
