    Popping noise

In the last month I have been hearing a popping noise from the front end of my car. It has got worse over time. It is usually when I take off from a dead start.

My thoughts were motor mounts, suspension, or something in the steering/control arm area. I don't know any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Re: Popping noise

most likely is a snub mount. cleap and easy to replace. take off the belly pan or try to look from up top for seperated or deteriorated material in or around the front of the oil pan/snub mount cage. also look for purple/dark red fluid leaking from the side engine mounts as this is a sign of wear/damage.

So it sounds like mounts. That's what I thought. Where is the snub nose mounted so I can look for deterioration.

very front of the engine at the bottom. it is surrounded by a "cage" so its hard to see from the top. best to take off the belly pan and check from underneath with a flashlight. you will see lots of foamy particle crap in small and large chunks, if it is damaged. if not, it will be one piece.
