I should probably introduce myself.....(picture intensive)

Hi all. My name's Matt, I'm from NNJ. I'm not new to the Audi scene; been on Audiworld and Vortex/Fortitude for a while (quattrothatcould on there), and have lurked here for a while, but have just started to post. The forums are kind of like my version of Alcoholics Anonymous, except for modding....

I have a 2004 A4 1.8T, quattro, 6-speed, silver/black leather, premium and cold weather packages, not much else. Bought this car in May of '07 (I had a 2002 B6 A4 before this but she was murdered by a school bus), and put 25k on her since then. I have a modding additction (as I'm sure lots of people here do), so naturally I started buying stuff. H-Sports, AWE FMIC, and Oettinger's carried over from the last car. I bought Vogtland coilovers, Milltek Sport catback exhaust, Dahlback Racing Stage 2 ish (solder-in chip and fuel injectors), B6 S4 front brakes, B6 S4 bi-xenons, US RNS-E, Euro-spec shift knob/boot, S4 upper and blackout lower grilles, and I'm sure a bunch of other crap I'm forgetting (I could check my spreadsheet but that might make me cry...modding is expensive).

She's my daily driver, and hauls my road bike in the summer and skis in the winter. I like the sleeper look; I can respect the flashier cars but its not my style, therefore, no, I will not, ever, paint my lowers lol. My car has come a long way but its not near done. I'm trying to find some S4 Recaros, and then will add a Euro-RS4 wheel, black headliner (hopefully), and when the turbo dies I'll get to more performance stuff.

There are a lot of creative people on here, and its great to see the new and innovative things. Onto the pictures (hopefully I can make them work...)

There are normally foglight grills on the car:

Yes, my Europlate is duct taped on in these pictures:

I didnt' know that painting your lowers was considered "flashy"

Also, i think alot of other things will more likely take a shit on you before your K03 dies.

    And finally, nice Nav unit.

Re: I should probably introduce myself.....(picture intensive)

Haha wow, much bigger response than I thought. I'll try to respond to everything here:

I don't consider painted lowers flashy. I meant more swapping bumpers, 20's, et al. Nothing wrong with it, as there are a bunch of wonderfully executed cars on here (Actlsub's car comes to mind). And '04.5+ had painted lowers (that's why USP's are '04.5+). Early '04's had non painted lowers (my car has a 10/03 build date).

    Hi to A4AdMan :-)

And the dyno numbers; I figured there was going to be commentary about this, which is great. I should probably start be prefacing some things, so I don't need to go back an clarify stuff later. It's a MAHA dyno (take it FWIW; I know there's a lot of discussion over Dynojet, Mustang, etc). From what I know/heard, the MAHA reads whp very low, that's the only reason I can justify I dynoed 62 whp. The first dyno (the 62 whp one...lol) was done on a hot and humid morning. I had the stock IC, no chip, etc. The only modification was my Milltek Catback. I also have a stock cat. The second dyno sheet was about 6 weeks later. Roughly the same temperature, less humid iirc. Modifications were (at that point) AWE FMIC, Dahlback chip and injectors, Milltek, fresh fuel filter (like changed out an hour before), and new spark plugs. Stock K03 turbo.

3 runs were performed. Each run got progressively better as the car got hotter (maybe 30-45 seconds in between runs). The last two read about the same. There are a few differences between the Dahlback software and REVO/APR/GIAC. The latter three are a flash, and Dahlback is an "old-school" chip (soldered in). Its also adjusted to each car, so no two chips are the same (in theory). Dahlback also does not use a Bosch 386cc size injector (it uses larger, but how much larger I don't know). So its not a full custom tune, more like a modified off the shelf tune, idk if that makes sense or not. The car is really fast, and I couldn't give a rats ass about the numbers really. Its fun to drive and puts a smile on my face. If anyone is in North NJ and wants a ride, I'm more than happy to meet up. I'm also signed up for the ASP dyno day, so I should have a different set of numbers on a different dyno.

And to whoever said it, I know other things are going to shit the bed. I have a DV at home that I need to put in, clutch is next on the list, and hopefully the turbo dies by then :-).

And yes, Oettinger RE wheels, 18". Heavy, but I like them. Need refinishing though. Previous owner had trouble parking against curbs.

So take all the above info with a grain of salt, I just wanted to be as thorough as possible. Thanks guys :-)

Thanks! Not sure what will come next engine wise. Either built motor/1.9L bottom end with a BT, or might run some sort of K04 and pick up a UrS4 to mess around with. I'll wait until the turbo dies though, so nothing right now (as the economy isn't in the best of shape, and we don't know where we are in the market fluctuation. Last thing I want to do is spend money and then need it a few months later bc the market shat the bed again...)
