Come and join us, Thursday and Friday, December 4th and 5th, as we hold our fourth annual ACNA drivers school and safety seminar at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, one of our favorite tracks!

The purpose of this seminar is to improve your driving skills while learning more of your cars capabilities. You can expect to learn braking and steering techniques, as well as overall car control. Beginner and intermediate students will be provided with an instructor at all times. Beginners will also participate in slalom, lane change, and braking exercises. Safety throughout the entire event is of utmost importance. We hope you enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Audi enthusiasts and that your stay in Buttonwillow is a memorable experience. This is NOT a racing school.

    Fighting...with...self...

I really would love to do this. Especially after the Audi Driving Experience. Man. Tires, wear on car, etc. Is it worth it?

When do I have to let you know by? Also, are you automatically a beginner if you haven't been before?

I'm not sure when the last day to sign up is, you should check with the guy in the email.
If you've never been to a driving school before you'll be put in the beginner group, which is a good thing. LOTS of education and you really do learn a ton about driving.

To those that have been - depending on agressiveness, of course, how much wear can I expect on the car (brakes, tires, etc.).

I'll check with the guy in the email for those details Mike. Thanks.

Buttonwillow is very easy on tires and brakes compared to some other local tracks.

Sure there are always lowered priced track days. Keep in mind that price is always relative to the safety and quality of the event. I've done dozens of track events with lots of different groups. ACNA and BMWCCA are by far some of the safest groups out there and are absolutely fantastic for beginners and novice guys on the track. Instruction is top rate, and the emphasis is on safety and learning.

You sound like you're looking for an excuse not to go :D Just do it, no way will you regret it. Even a track day will only mess up your tire tread and maybe scare you a little with fading brakes. This course sounds like you'll learn a lot. my 2c

I run track days with various groups and clubs. Some have lower cost and some are higher. Audi club has events that are different from your normal for-profit track day organizers. ACNA provides far more instuction. You will have a instructer in your car all weekend if your a novice, and at least a couple runs if your more advanced. You will learn from people who first and formost want you to learn how to drive around the track safely. Second they will help you improve your technique so your performance and comfort level rise together. I have not missed a ACNA track event in California, north and south, and even a couple out of state, since my first event over 2 1/2 years ago. Price in the absense of value means nothing, and I for one believe there is tremendous value in ACNA track events. As far as wear and tear you'll leave a bit of rubber and brake pads behind, but the fun you have will far out weigh those cost. So sign up before its to late, you won't regret it.

Re: SoCal ACNA Buttonwillow Driving School Dec 4-5

the two non-weekend days kills it for me. ACNA are great events, but especially the socal chapter seems to only do weekday ones. i've griped about it for years. sure track rental is cheaper and it's easier for them to book the days, but i'd gladly pay more for a weekend event.

if you've never done an event and can spare the two days, it will be a blast. it's awful fun to see a large group of audis on a track.

hotels in buttonwillow are cheap too.

As long as your brakes are firm and function, there's no reason you shouldn't pass tech with a bad ABS module.

I'm pretty sure both track events last year Spring Mountain and Buttonwillow were on the weekend.
