As I was heading out this morning I started my car and the coolant/temperature warning light flashed and stayed on for about 2 minutes and turned itself off. The engine was cold (just started the car).

I promptly parked the car and took my other car to work - other than coolant level, what should I look for when I get home? Is it safe to drive now that the light is off? It's the first time it's happened in about 3000 miles of ownership, and the PPI I had done at purchase indicated no prior problems.

Car is a 98 2.8 30V.
