Anybody been to any of those stations? Wouldnt you know it i dont live near any of them but i am within 30-45 minutes of some.

Thinkin about mixing and matching my way to 93 octane.

    Re: Cali High octane pumps

I've been to the ones here in Norcal (Stockton and Lodi). Yeah, it's 100 octane and sells for like $6.50 a gallon, iir, but it's still cali garbage gas with all the detergents and crap. Personally, I wasn't that impressed until I got to 104 or higher which doesn't sell at stations. . .and then there's 116. . . nawz. . .muah

    Re: Cali High octane pumps

I have a station 5 minutes from me with 100 oct for about $7/gallon. And yeah 2ndEngineS4, it doesn't compete with the gas sold at the tracks.

I don't know where you are in SoCal, but if your near Irvine, Mission Motorport carries the VP lineup. The usually have VP MS109 in stock.. That shit works amazing over the 100oct you find at the pumps.

Adding Xylene to 91 can get you there, going to the hardware store beats driving an hour one way.

    Re: Cali High octane pumps

what sucks is even though 91 octane has come down from it's max quite a bit here in Cali (and everywhere), the pump 100 octane is still at peak levels ($8.00/gallon) at the station near me.

    Re: Cali High octane pumps

That vp racing c-16 looks pretty good. Adding about 1-1.5 gallons per full tank gets you about 92.6-93 octane.

How much xylene would i need? would i be better to buy an even higher octane of vp racing and put that in?

I guess im just looking for the best bang for the buck.

    Re: Cali High octane pumps

i would say sunoco purple(not sure on the octane) is the best for your money. it is what the cup cars use. we used it on my dads circle track car when the nascar southwest tour cars were in town. it was about 6.25 a gallon at the track. it made a huge difference it performance. i would say the altamont sells it but i am not sure, when because i didnt go there this year.

that's the one. they're rapers. I pulled up to the pump and it said $7.95 on the digi output. After i put the nozzle in my tank, turned around to select the grade, it changed to $8.10 or something. I was like WTF? but i wasn't going to waste my time going inside trying to argue with anyone. i just LOL'd.
