Similar to G35's exhaust...

I have always loved how the G35 sounds, so I was wondering if there is anyway to make my car (04 1.8t FWD Tiptronic) sound similar. I'm not exactly sure why I love how the G's sound, or what it is about the sound I love, I just do. So, does anybody know of any exhausts or engine mods that would make my Audi have that distinct sound?? Any information will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

drop a V6 in your engine bay is the way to go

Well, I was thinking along the lines of smaller mods or exhaust change, I definitely don't want to switch my entire engine, but thanks anyways!

I have a corner office that is flanked by two pretty busy streets and I can always tell when a g35 or an Fx45 goes by - they sound amazing. I'd love to get my 3.0 to sound that way!

As a weekender I have a convertible 300zx and it has of all things, two flowmasters on it and it sounds mean as hell with a little bit of that throaty rasp of the 35 but not quite as refined.

If anyone figures this out I'm all in to do the same!

the g35 exhaust note sounds the exact same no matter the load or rpm. I dont like it. I really wish i got a more "exhaust Friendly" car cause i hate the way they sound. i guess nothing compares to a 6.1 liter straight piped beast!

This thread has come up several times. Seems like a lot of people with a 1.8T want it to sound like a G35. Everytime this comes up there are arguments about 4 cly vs V6, 1.8L vs 3.5L of displacement, and the compression of a turbo vs N/A motor. The bottom line is your 1.8T isn't going to sound like a G35.

actually a 3.0 with an exhaust sounds just as nice as a G35 imo

My dad has an '03 300M Special which comes with a factory-tuned sport exhaust. It has a 3.5L motor in it and it sounds exactly the same as the G35/FX45. As much as I love that tone too I'm sad to say that it is probably based off the size of the motor and the N/A factor.
