    Low voltage, then dead battery

I noticed that my car was running around 11.8-12V, and recall it being close to 14 most of the time while driving. Now it wont turn over. My first inclination is to replace the alternator. Is there anything else I should check first?

Also not sure if its related, but the headlights sometimes wont turn on and I ahve to cycle it several times, and i get an intermittent brake light out warning. I think the brake light is the socket, as is usually the case..

sounds like a dead alternator. if your going to get a re-man, try and find someone local eho rebuilds alternators first. just as good and cheaper.

autozone ftw with alternators... lifetime warranty. if it dies again, then they replace it for free... well, plus your labor time.
