    B7 S4 battery replacement

    Hey guys, I need to buy a new battery for my B7 2006 V8 S4. What battery do I need? What specifications are needed for the battery? PLEASE HELP!>!?!??!?!?!

    Is this in the trunk like the RS4? Those weigh 60lbs and there are light options, with a search.

    are they super expensive? and...where do I search? I tried to search for lithium S4 battery...didn't work very well on here.

    Just did mine over the weekend. I got an Optima Red Top, but any Size 35 will do. The Optima was a good 15+ pounds lighter than stock, so that was a benefit. Getting at the hex screw for the battery hold-down was a pain, but finding the right driver in my bin-o-fun was the hardest part. I started a thread on this:

    Also, you want a battery with *at least* 420 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) just to be on the safe side, going by the rule of thumb of 100 CCA per liter displacement. The size 35 battery has 720 or so CCA.

    Is your car still under warranty? My battery was going bad, took into the dealer and they replaced it for free under warranty.
