Zimmerman Brakes

Just was wondering if anyone knows if Zimmerman makes cross drilled brakes for the rear...please get back to me on this cause im trying to order some brakes tonight...thanks in advance

PS on a side note...i just ordered some hawk hps pads...what rotors would you guys recommend without braking the bank...thanks

did you order the 245x 10mm or the 232 x9 mm?

or does it make a difference?

245 x 10 for my 2003 avant 1.8t. Its 245x12 if you have the 3.0. Its is different for some years but I cant remember which. I have an equiptment list printout I got somewhere for my year, it gives the details of a bunch of stuff on my car...

My Zimmermann x-drilled front rotors have been squeaking after 4k miles. Any issues like this with yours or anyone here at all??

check them out, they are good rotors and they likely will not break the bank.

I did a little bit of research and found out that you apply this stuff on the pads prior to installation. The pads and rotors are already installed, where then could I apply this? Do I need to disassemble the brake and apply this?

You will need to remove your pads and coat the back of the pads with the CRC. Let it cure and re-install the pads. I have used this stuff for years and never had a brake squeal issue.

Yes, I see where they list it for an '02. I hope that listing is correct. I was under the impression that the larger rear rotors were fitted from '04 on. I hope for your sake that I am wrong.

Best thing to do is remove your rear wheel/rotor and see what size is cast in the rotor.
I've read of only 3.0L B6's having the 255mm rears...also some say their B6 1.8T came with 255's (very, very few); and of those 1.8t's some say they were only early build b6's (aka a few 02's) while others claim it to be late build cars (I've heard 04-up, 04.5-up and 05-up).

Either way...one thing is clear...there is way too much confusion to what came on what cars...only way to be sure is to physically measure and/or look for the size stamp.
