IF you go over to an A box ecu you have to find a bosch MAF sensor too....

If you put an A box in your car you should have:

    1) a Bosch MAF
    2) a 6spd transmission

Otherwise you need a different MAF / Recode the cluster

    Re: a-box m-box

I just went from an A box to an M box myself. Why would you wanna downgrade? You should keep the M box.... As a side point, is your M box stock? I have an ABT/AMS M box ecu (almost as powerful as giac but with the smoothness of MTM). Would you be willing to do a trade plus $200? PM me if you are interested.

    Re: a-box m-box

why is it an upgrade/downgrade to go from abox to mbox? i dont understand this perception. is it because the hitachi sensor is less prone to failure than the bosch? i just dont see the reason.

while the map locations for a box and m box are different, the maps themselves are the same. most tuners tune to mbox just to keep things standardized

FYI you can change any ecu to any box ... the information is stored in the eeprom.

what you are talking about is changing the car to work with the box that you get... which i guess is doable too.
