A good DIY mod this weekend?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What is a good DIY mod(s) that I can pull off this weekend? I'[m having to go stay with my grandparents for the weekend, and I will most likely be bored as fuck. Not saying their bland or boring, wait, yeah I am. I love 'em though, but I won't have anything to do. I already have spray on tint lined up for the tails. Check my sig to see what I have already done. I will have a nice range of tools to work with since he has a little wood shop. I'd like to do some interior mods and some diy performance stuff, but I don't know if there is anything performance wise to do. I also have a lowering kit sitting around, would this be reasonable to install over a 3 day period with just 1 person? All they are are just new coils. The curly springy things. Haha
    But what could I do?
I was also thinking about the DIY front lip.

    Thanks guys

if you are handy with a wrench, lowering is an afternoon job. you'd still have two days to kill. plenty of time to detail and tint tails.

Wouldn't I need spring compressors? What kind would I need and do you know if there are any write ups? I was also thinking about doing the V1 mute switch, tails, N249 bypass, lowering, painting engine cover, and maybe glossing the grill.

Its been done already. And please don't bump that thread. It pains me to read the great difficulty everyone has in doing such a simple mod. I think its easier than putting gas in your gas tank...

Re: A good DIY mod this weekend?

If I were you, I would:

    - Clean the interior, vacuum the floors, make it look like new inside. Dont forget the trunk.
    - Get rid of any squeezing noises your car might be making while driving.
    - Oil change.
    - Remove the air box and clean it inside out. I done that a month ago, it was nice to see the airbox look like brand new again.
    - A nice car wash/detailing for the exterior.
    - Search for mods in AZ, there are tons of stuff to be done on your car :)
For your OEM HID D1S/D2S/D3S and HID conversion [Headlights/Foglights], and Interior/Exterior LED needs, send me a PM.

i'm not bumping any thread, just sayin it's a quick, free mod that might put a little excitement back into the ownership of a slow-ass vehicle...

good write up on write up on a4mods.com.
you can "rent" compressors at autozone. leave a deposit and you get it all back when you return the parts. = free.

I am pretty sure a4mods lists all needed tools, but make sure you have a metric allen set and basic sockets/wrenches etc. before you start. not a hard job, but it does take some work. If you can change your oil and do a brake job this is totally do-able. if you've never done this before, give yourself a day, just to be on the safe side. if you have done it even once, you can probably get through it in 2-3 hours.

I also vote to detail. Gotta get protection on the paint with winter coming!
