What would you use to get rid of this noise? --> Pic

I found the source of a noise which I think is making those annoying "squeeks" when driving on bumps. Its where the back seat connects to the car, as the red arrow shows:

What would you guys use for this? WD-40 or some kind of oil (please specify which!) ?

There is a fix for this, i used to have the link but now i can't find it. PM oldguy he posted the link a long time ago. All that was required was to wrap a part in tape.

I thought he was referring to the hook near the top of the seat? I already covered that with some tape. But the noise is when you move the rear seat up and down, and I hope I dont have to take the rear seat apart.

I think WD-40 and grease would be too messy and might get on the seats

The noise is more then likely coming for the latch, either way grease them both WD-40 is fine, and adjust the latch so the seat is harder to latch.

Re: What would you use to get rid of this noise? --> Pic

    FIXED!

Yesterday night I was so desperate that I put vegetable cooking oil .. yes you can laugh, it did not help lol

OK, so today I bought a can of Jig-A-Loo (http://www.jigaloo.com/us/e_what_it_is.php), which is supposed to be better than WD-40 in the sense that it does not have any grease, oil, wax, etc and sprayed it to every hinge and screw I could find in the backseats area. I then removed the lock/latch for the seats and cleaned it/sprayed...

Result? 100% noise free ride!! No rattling, no squeaking, no nothing.

wouldnt putting duct tape right on top of that bolt head fix the issue? i'm assuming soft leather on ducttape surface would stop the noise. good job on finding it and sharing btw

^^ some of the hinges you cannot even put anything on, it had to be sprayed. That includes the hinges connecting the armrest in the backseat (where the medical kit is) to the backseats, etc.

You can use that Jig-A-Loo on your doors and windshield washer nozzles to prevent them from freezing

for future reference Any Auto parts store, or hardware store sells a Heavy Duty Silicone Lubricant. That is by far the best for little squeak jobs like this.

It took me *months* to fix ALL the squeaks my interior was making. I fixed literally 10+ sources of noises/squeaks coming from all sorts of different places: the dash, rear seats, upper door speakers, e-brake, ashtray, front console, glove box's door, armrest, door trim, vents, u name it!! Some took hours to find, others days or even weeks. The hard part was to find the source, the fix is 99% of the time a minute or two thing.

One of "them" was a noise coming from the dash which happens exactly between 1500 and 1800 RPM. So I removed the front middle vents, looked everywhere, put foam sheets all around the vents, etc, nothing. I went nuts, only to later find out that it was actually coming from the front ashtray area!

The last on the list were the rear seats, they drove me nuts everytime I hit a bump I hear a squeak. Its as if 2 people were having sex in the back seats!

I used foam sheets/pieces, duck tape, a screw driver and that Jig-A-Loo to fix all of them. Now I only hear the tires when driving.

Best way to find out if its actually the backseat is to fold it down on the seat. If the noise is gone while driving, you know its the hinges and latches of the rear seat. Do so for both rear seats, just like the first pic on the OP. That would be my best bet, unless its something with the door handle or seat belt connectors rubbing on the rear seats.

If I get some free time, I might write a detailed DIY with pics on all the squeaks/noises that I dealt with and how to get rid of them. Will see.
