    Cursed B6 Avant

I've had my B6 Avant for almost 3 months now. I love the car. But, I think it is cursed. Let me explain...

This was my first experience with a used car, and being a perfectionist, I wanted my used car to be perfect. While there wasn't any sort of significant damage, the rear bumper had a couple of paint chips and gouges in the plastic. I asked the dealer to clean it up before I buy the car. He explained that all it needed was a paint job that wouldn't cost more than $400...he wasn't going to do it for me. I wanted it to be perfect so badly, that in the end I offered to split the cost of the paint job with the dealer. He agreed and sent it out to get painted.

Within the first month of ownership, I was rear ended...damaging the rear bumper I just forked out cash to clean up. (I've never been in an accident before) Thank god for insurance and the fact that I upgrade my policy to a $0 deductible. During the process, I found out that the dealer basically took the money I paid in good faith to have the rear bumper painted and ran. (used the wrong primer, didn't spray a clear coat, there was also overspray on my quarter panels) I should have known better than to deal in good faith with a used car salesman...but you have to learn somehow. I took it to my shop and they had it fixed up to near new condition. I couldn't have been happier.

Last weekend I parked my car at the local mall - far enough that there weren't many cars parked close to me. I always try to park a safe distance away from anyone. When my wife and I got back to the car from shopping, it was clear someone had hit my rear bumper. Again - no major damage, but I've now fixed my rear bumper twice and I can't believe that I might have to do it a third time. I report it, but don't want to file another claim so I come to terms with driving around my beautiful avant with scratches on her ass.

Finally - this morning I was at the Timmy's drive thru and the guy behind me lets his foot off the brake, driving into my rear bumper again.

So, back to the subject line - my car is cursed!!! Anyone know how to remove a curse? I tried to tell my wife that the car just wants a rear RS4 kit...but she's not buying it, so I'm left to resolve how to deal with it as is.

having a $0 deductible doesn't save you anything, you pay more per month that way. with a deductible you pay when you need it.

Anyway, i would not park far away, you may think is safer, but where is someone more likeley to do a hit and run, in the front of the parking lot with lots of witnesses, or in the back corner where nobody saw it? I always park where there are lots of people around, and have never had any issues. Another thing i would do is next time you fix it, get something like star-shield put over top to minimize any damage to the bumper.

failing that, Voodoo's believe if you burn a lock of your own hair it will remove a curse.

Well I hope your luck gets better from now on with your avant. I've been rear ended by a mom driving a Ford Windstar at a redlight, when I first purchased the car, so I kind of feel your pain. Insurance paid for a new S4 bumper, which was great. Haven't had any troubles since then ( 2 years ago), *knock on wood*.

Too bad, hopefully that will be the last of it, three times the charm, bad things come in 3s, etc. Maybe sprinkle some holy water...... and hopefully the car won't start to smoke or melt.
