I have a metal rubbing noise coming frm my right rear tire. It Sind like everytime it make a roatstion it rubs lightly. Then only SOMETIMES when I apply the breaks it grinds real roughly and I can not only hear it but feel it. What is this? It's a FWD. My break pads are also worn down too.

well since you stated that your break pads are worn down... why not start there??? next i would check all the bushings and things to see if maybe they are rubbing... or might even be a blown strut or shock... that is all i can think of off the top of my head

I had a roof shingle jammed in between the pad and rotor. Just got the pads and rotors too. Damn roofers at my place. Pick up after you're done!

Yep, potatochip pads in the rear. Your pad is gone and your probably down to use the backing to help you stop.

12/23/09 - My car has been phenomenal to me. Runs strong. Don't think I'm ever going to sell it. Rather throw $7k into it for a refresh than buy a new A4 that has no dipstick.
    12/5/10 - 100k miles & counting!
    9/22/13 - 146k+ & running strong w/a new TB, water pump, etc.
