car pulls to the right, even after alignment

so my 02 1.8t quattro likes to pull to the right pretty hard even after an alignment. What types of things would cause this? ball joints and tie rod ends? the car itself rides smooth with no major clunks. Also, sometimes it will ride straight with out any problems and then other times you can feel the car just pull hard to the right.

car has sport package too if that makes any difference... (guessing the only difference is springs/struts)

any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks.

Try driving in a really flat parking lot, it could just be the roads drainage slope.

Also try rotating tires. Finally, just becuase it was aligned doesnt mean it was done well, ask for a printout of the specs if they still have it. If it doesnt track strait in a parking lot take it back and complain, I once had to do this three times after an alignment!

its def. not just the roads as i can feel the car actually pull to the right and i physically have to put pressure on the wheel to the left to keep going straight. this worries me because i dont want to eat up my new set of tires.

check the tire PSI to see if they are set correct. Best to check it is when the tires are cold. If one tire has less air it can pull and I seen it before on mine.

did that... all tires were within .5 psi of each other.

if its pulling that hard then you either have a worn suspension maybe ball joint or tie rod, or the alignment wasnt done correctly as stated

Does it do this on rolling or when brakes are applied. Either way, you may just need a brake job, or possibly even a caliper rebuild if seals are shot. If the brakes on the right side are dragging (not disengaging) then the car will pull to the right even if you are not pressing the pedal.

put your car up and test wheels for resistance when spinning them by hand.

i was guessing suspension component since sometimes its fine and other times i can really feel it pull, so something has to be on its way out.

i am pretty sure you nailed it. The previous owner stretched the tires too. they are 225's on a 8.5" wide mandrus rim. I just put my winter rims on and it has not done it since.
