    Storing an A4

I'm about to head out of town for the next 6 weeks, and was wondering if anyone has advice on anything special I need to do for my A4. The car will be stored in a heated garage. I'm assuming that my battery may be dead when I try to start it up after I get back, but is there anything else I should be aware of or try to do before I leave it for this long?

    Re: Storing an A4

6 weeks isn't long. If you want to be safe, put some fuel stabilizer in the tank, run the car for a little bit so it gets through the fuel system, disconnect battery and put it on a battery tender, and get it up on jacks.
I store my car every winter for months and this method always has worked.
I do more than that, but for 6 weeks, I doubt you even need to do that, if the car is in a warm garage.

6 weeks is nothing. Tires will be fine, but if you want to put more air in them whatever. Disconnect negative battery cable.

Would you want to do an oil change right before you started driving it again in 6 weeks, or am I just paranoid?

    Re: Storing an A4

Yeah, saying goodbye to it for six weeks is going to be hard...I've only had it for a few months. Luckily, I'll be able to drive my brother's S60R during the time I'm gone, so that should be fun. I'm planning on getting an oil change when I get back just to be sure, I'm pretty close to needing one anyway.

I would definitly change the oil right after 6 weeks.

Oil deteriorates when it is sitting still
