mph light on display and beeping..

Whats this all about? The light is on right above my temp display that says mph (white circle w/ red rim) and it has a number one in the top left corner. When ever i exceed 15 mph or so it beeps..

its a speed warning that you set manually. in case you need to remember to slow down for a school zone or something. I have mine set for 80, lol. just hit the reset button on the lower half of your wiper lever. I think thats how you make it stop.

mine is set for 96 mph...up here (Ontario) if you're caught above that speed, they impound your car for a week, fine you $2000-10,000 and give you a 'Street Racing' charge.

when I got my first Audi, I did the same thing...accidentally set the speed thing at like 10 mph. It was good and frustrating when you don't know how to undo it in a traffic jam

yeah, it's a real deal breaker on high speed driving

I got pulled over once by a cop 2 months ago. He was coming on to the highway, and saw me whip by. I was on bluetooth talking to my girlfriend. He pulled me over, and told me he was going 160km/h (100 mph) trying to catch me and I was still pulling away. Fortunately for me I hit some traffic and slowed down before he could pace me enough to bust me. I never saw him till he flashed the lights. He was really cool about it and actually asked me a few questions about the car as he was a fan (S4).

Man it terrified me. They take your car and impound it...costs about $500 to get it back after all fees over and above the street-racing charge and the thousands in fines. Even if you get off in court, you don't get that $500 back. Cop can pull you over for a burnt out light, and if youre a dick (or he's a dick) it'd be pretty easy for him to say he nailed you on radar at 50km/h over the limit (30mph)

I just purchased my car this past weekend so forgive me if i am not as versed in all things Audi as you are. I had a problem w/ misfiring cylinder last night (check my other post) and i left my manual in my garage when i was changing out my plugs. When i drove to work i noticed a rather annoy problem (similar to your post) so i figured i would ask here so that i wouldn't have to put up with it on my sometimes stop and go 45 minute evening commute home.

Fortunatley for me there were other people her that were willing to be helpful (such as 40valve that has helped me in other threads) and give me direction in how to fix my issue rather than being judgemental and sarcastic like you.

BTW i'm thinking when you registered you mispelled you user name..Shouldn't the L be after the first F and not the third?

If You Want To Turn It Off Completely All You Have To Do Is While Your Driving And Car Is In Motion And Im Guessing In Gear You Hold Down The Check Button On The Right Side Of Your Cluster And It Should Turn It Off. It Happened To Me When I Bought My S4 And Didnt Know What The Hell Was Going On . Thought The Car Was Gonna Blow Up Actually Lol Because I Left The Dealer Ship And Hit 135 On The Highway On The Way Home And That Thing Was Beeping Like Crazy

In the later generations does the MPH warning turn reset after the car is turned off? I have a B5 S4 and whenever I set it and turn the ignition off then back on it resets and I have to hit the desired speed again to set it again. Kinda a pain. My friend has a e60 M5 and can set his through iDrive so he set it at 100mph (pretty easy for that car) and we'll be crusing and "ding.... Damn it!" Feels like nothing lol. Just thinking about picking up a B7 RS4 so I was curious.
