    TEIN springs?

What's up everybody. I've been on this board for a little while, just listening and learning, but now I've got some questions of my own. I got my 05.5 Ocean Blue 2.0TQ last November when I got a scholarship to college for football. It took almost a year, but now I've finally got some money to start modding. I was looking into a chip, intake, springs (new suspension not an option, im in college and don't have $1200+), rims, exhaust and a kit. I read somewhere on here that lowering the car was the best mod for the money, and I wanted some of your opinions. I found a pretty good deal on some TEIN springs and was wondering if I should go ahead and buy them.

    Thanks a lot in advance

    Re: TEIN springs?

Software and suspension are the main ones.
I would save the $ from rims and get a coilover.
Stock intake is good enough unless you go with bigger turbo in future.

    Re: TEIN springs?

Most of the guys that say suspension is the best upgrade are rocking Stasis SS coilovers. Do you have the sport or non-sport suspension? I agree with edkwok, save the money for rims and get coilovers.
Oh, and if you get chipped you migh want to add a upgraded DV to the list. Some guys are running the stock one with no problem, but more often then not they rip.

    Re: TEIN springs?

so everyone is going to tell you to get coilovers even though you just stated that your on a serious budget thus making the chances of you wanting to spend over a grand on coilovers nearly non existant... so im assuming your just going to disregard all of those posts

you can throw the springs on there and it will look good.. but after some time the shocks will probably blow or the ride will get shitty.. since your on a budget i would look into a spring/shock combo.. i bought some springs from the classified brand new for $110.. then bought some shocks for $420.. and right there you have a good suspension that will look sick for about $550 which is a great deal... just hawk the classifieds for some springs and buy shocks and your set

IMO theres really no point in spending all that money on coilovers if your dropping your car just for looks and a minor handling improvment

    Re: TEIN springs?

if coils are out of your range, then springs AND new shocks and the next thing. you need to match up the drop springs with some sport type shocks, if you leave the stock shocks in, they wear out quickly and your ride will suffer. do the suspension right the first time, so you don't have to go back in there a second time.

    Re: TEIN springs?

search the classifieds, you migh be able o find a set of used coils in the 600 range, if not the neuspeed/h&r springs with the grooved bilsteins provide a really nice stance without the cost and adjustability of coils.

But u only have non-sprot shot, it's better go with springs+shocks combo or get coilover...

If you go with the Teins be careful there are a ton of knockoff poor quality ones in circulation.

That is true. A lot of knockoffs around. Gotta be careful.

You too!! HAHA. I never noticed. I just posted in your thread! I rode in my buddy's a4 and he has the eibach coilovers. Definitely a better setup. But since I'm on a budget, I think I got a decent deal.

in due time, they'll go sooner than if he still had the oem shocks. it may take a long time, but they will fail prematurely.
