    Camber Kit/ Adjustable Control Arms...Anybody?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is anyone rolling with this or are we all just eating tires
    and stimulating the economy?

Also is there one out there that's less than the group buy on here?
It seems like a few of the older models and TTs have front A.C.A.s
    but I've found little else.
    Any insights?

    I researched on it before.
Our cars should be 1-2 degree on camber when lowered.
It shouldn't be that bad if tires are rotated regularly and drive hard on corners.

When you say "on' camber I'm assuming you're suggesting negative camber,
as in the top of the tires are closer to the engine then the bottom of the tires?
like they're tilted inward slightly? I'll have to check and see where mine are at, as the alignment guy was lecturing me that it's crazy to be rolling that way
and that my tires won't last 5k miles.!!! They didn't give me the info on the setup as they did the work for free. Maybe that's why he was pissed
Anyways, I'm still going to look into it and watch the wear.

Anyone else out there actually running an ACA or anything like it?

    How low is your car?

RS4s have -1.3 camber out of the box and most Porsches, BMWs and other high performance cars have over -1.5 camber. Uneven tire wear is minimal at best until you get to around -2 camber, especially if you drive spiritedly around corners. Unless you're absolutely slammed, there is no way you've got more than maybe -1.7.

I just swapped out my s-line springs with HR Sports
The drop total from stock (non-sline)
is supposed to be 1.5 to 1.7 or something like that???
Anyways, because I"m s-liine it was probably less than that.
I'll have to find out what the spec is from the shop.
Maybe they're just rolling with a scare tactic or just angry b/c
I did't have to pay them (Autworks paid for the alignment)
    Who knows?

You may want to measure from ground to fender. To give you an idea, right now, I'm at 24 and 7/8ths and have -1.7 camber in the front and -1.3 in the rear with no uneven tire wear.

    Cool! thanks for the info.
I'm about 25in all the way around and as soon as I can wrangle
my papework out of the alignment shop, I'll let you know where I sit!

But holy god it rules to be lowered again! I'm turning and burning like
    it's nobody's business....RS4 rear sway is next!

That is correct. Lowering the car will cause negative camber. Like what other said above, unless it is less than -2 degree, it shouldn't be a problem.

Just a heads up, springs only will wear out your shocks very quickly, especially if you're low and will likely give you bump-steer. There is no replacement for a good set of coils. You can spend as little as $1,200 for a good setup (Vogtlands) and you can find them used in the classifieds for ~$500-800. You may want to consider doing it right. Also, yeah, the RS4 sway will transform the car.

I it's true that shock wear out quickly if you put springs on a non sport suspension... i think you are a little better if you have the sport suspension
