I have a b5 stage 2+ s4, and i can't shake the idea of getting a 9-5 aero. Am I crazy? If so, why, if not, why not? Anyone like these cars?

I had a Saab 9-3 in 2003 (1st year after redesign) - while the car was pretty fun to drive, I can't say much for Saab build quality - let's just say the service advisor and I got to know each other pretty quickly.

Sold the car after 18 months, the fastest I've ever gotten rid of a car.

Rented one in Scotland last year, it was a real hunk-o-junk. Only reason i got it was because i wanted something nice and not another Peugeot shitbox and they didn't have a 3 or 5 series. the rear seats are more comforatable than the front, how does that make sense?

I've been looking at and getting interested in the newer 2006 and up 9-3 aero's with the v6 turbo engine. But no one around where I live seems to have one so I don't know too much about them.

I used to have a 9-3 too, it was a nice car, but things started to go bad a few months in. First the sunroof, then the a/c, esp... it was no fun and very expensive, needless to say I got rid of it after nine months. I would only buy another if it had a bumper-to-bumper warranty.

9-5's are great cars I hear, owners are absolutely loyal to them. I think they are pretty cool, and have plenty of great features.

We've had many Saabs over the last few years and either the 9-3 or 9-5 Aeros are a blast. Sure there are some things to be desired with them, but they do drive well.

    Re: saab 9-5 bug

We have 2 in the family right now. My first car was a '99 9-5 SE with the 3.0 V6 turbo then my dad got an '04 9-5 Aero 2.3t.

I got my S4, and my sister crashed & sold her jetta GLI so she took my old saab. She still drives it, but dosnt like it much haha.

Ill say the new one is much more solid and relyable, but its a MAJOR downgrade from your B5 IMO. Iv had alot of seat time in both and they are comfy little cars (AND SAFE!) but it just dosnt evoke the same feelings as my S4

The AC / perforated leather seats were nice, decent sound system, smooth and quiet ride, quirkey saab things like the map light, key n the middle, and cup holders were entertaining but AWD is so much better than front, the s4 has more power, handles nicer, has a better interior, and has just about all the same luxuries. The saabs have just as many issues and cost just as much to repair as the b5 IMO

They are garbage in terms of build quality, torque steer and just a bad car overall. Good in pictures but that is about it. Saab is mostly GM now a days
