    question about getting my ECU chipped

    would it be possible at all if i called GIAC and arranged with them to send me a chipped ECU with a core deposit?

    Best bet would be to call them and double check. You might have to give them some information on the type of ECU you have. If I am not mistaken there was more then one ECU for the 1.8T.
    But it should be a 48 hour turn around if you send yours in.

    Even if they did offer such an option (which I doubt), I would assume they would charge you an arm and a leg (with a biscuit and gravy on the side) for that ECU. Easier route would be to source out a used ECU (they are on ebay all the time for ~$150) and send it in for flash. Or better yet, try and find an individual selling an already flashed ECU for ~$450 and keep your current one.
