absolutely not. the rear anti-roll bar is a spring, it's function is to add spring rate without adding harshness. in effect it makes teh rear springs 'stifffer' on one side when you turn. the reason is because it doesn't add harshness, as just adding 500lbs to your rear spring would.
we just did a whole bunch of dev work on the new b8 [it's quite good] trying different suspension systems and combinations on the track, and the stock suspension with our largest prototype rear bar [5x stiffer than stock] was downright dangerous. the car was very twitchy, and would be quite unsafe in unskilled hands. on the other hand, the stock damper, with a good spring and appropriately sized arb was very, very good. very quick [sucks to get passed in your stage3 b5s4 by a bone stock 2.0t automatic].
it's really a balancing act to get all of these things working together. stasis, if you will. =)
