Talking My winterfication has begun w/upgrades & suprises

My plan for the winter is a little different this year. The roads are so bad around here and I am sick of scraping in snow. I figured I could also freshen up the 100k suspension while I'm at it. Here's what I've decided on:

    25" height raised to 27"
New JHM Halfshafts to replace the blown CV (grease mess!) I found today (ordered)
New wheel bearings all around (got em)
Hotchkis f/r sways (waiting on order)
New JHM 12 piece Control Arm kit (aluminum CA kit) (waiting on order)
17" stockers ----> 16" A4 stockers (had to grind the hell out of the Caliper and use 15mm spacer in front and back)
Flushed and bled brake lines today (what a difference)

This will compliment the new tie rod end I did last year and Eibach Pro Street S Coilovers.

Still have to put in the Fidanza LWFW and Southbend stage 3 clutch, SSAC DP's, VAST W/M injection, 034 Phelonics and full gasket kit for engine.

I know my car will look like an allroad on skinnies but it will work out great in the snow and will be pretty comfortable to boot.

I will do the rear sway and bearing on friday then the front sway, half-shafts, bearings, CA's on Sunday. Ride height and alighnment soon after. Should be fun.

sounds like a good plan! You have coilovers I assume? Are you freshening them up? If so, how?

Yes, height adjustable. Coilover threads will be cleaned before they are spun up for more height. I don't want to screw up a thread.

Always! I like going in steps so I'll probably do an engine pull for the clutch/fw and the gaskets along with the DP's all at once. When the new stuff is broken in and working correctly I'll probably address the turbos.

How are you going to clean them? What products are you going to use and process? How bad off are they right now? I need to freshen up my h&rs

Mine are fine but they do get crap on the threads. I won't be changing the height though. I let this shop by me corner balance and align my car whenever I do suspension stuff. They do a cheap yet good job. I get a free weigh-in too as a bonus. IIRC, H&R's are really the only ones that have a history of needing love. Most others seem to last.
