    Symphony II+ upgrade on B7

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Searched and found plenty about this upgrade on a B6, but nothing specific to a B7.

I have a 2006 B7 A4 with Symphony II (non-Bose, non-satellite) with factory Bluetooth. Would a Symphony II+ from a 2007 A4 be plug and play or would I need some type of harness/adapter? If so, where to get one in Canada (Toronto)?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

Yeah if anyone knows the answer that would be great :)
and what is the cheapest way to add AUX IN to Symphony II+ ?
just a simple mini jack connector for mp3 player ( I don't need DICE or other expensive stuff)
    thanks

Re: Symphony II+ upgrade on B7

The II+ radios use the same Quadlock connector as the RNS-E and therefore require a very similar adapter. The pin out is differnt to the RNS-E though. The II+ radios also use a different antenn system, replacing a II radio witha II+ radio may result in poor FM reception. The AUX IN are just 3 pins on the Quadlock connector, adding 3 repair wires and changing the coding will allow the use of the AUX in on the II+ radios.

I'm about to buy a Symphony II+ for my 2006 A4. Just curious as to whether or not your install was a success, and if so, what you ultimately needed in terms of parts to make it work. Thanks!
