hey guys, sooo i have been having some little issues with my car recently but nothing that effects my driving ... buuuut since this morning my car wont start unless i boost it it wont even turnover unless it is boosted ... i am thinking bad alternator ... it is a 2005 a4 quattro automatic

and as for the other problems

    1) the traction control light randomly comes on every now and then??? i read somewhere that is could have something to do with the break switch ... can someone tell me more on this??

    2) my dash keeps telling me my passenger rear break light is out but it only stops working for a bit then starts working fine again after a little while

    3) there is sort of a weird scratching sound coming from around the belt area in the engine ... dont think this is a problem but just thought i would check

thanks for any insight to any of these problems .... i am hoping to take it into the dealer on monday morning

    Re: bad alternator??

My car had similar problem too for 2 months. It cranks and cranks but wouldnt turn over. it got even worse in the last week.

I took it into the dealer, they said the engine speed sensor is bad and had to be replaced.
And after that, everything goes back to normal like brand new car when I start it in the morning.

One turn, car comes alive. No misfirings in the beginning too!

Also, you might want to check your Fuel pump.
