Damn Fires

I was going to work on the 5 South through Santa Clarita and ended up spending 5 hours in traffic. Never did get through. At least I get to stay home today.

Yeah, it's in Sylmar. I was on the 5 at Magic Mountain Pkwy this morning about 5AM and they diverted all the traffic off the fwy. 5 North and South are closed. 210 closed, 14 closed, 405 at the 5 closed.
Apparantly it started about 10PM last night. The only way for me to get to work (Santa Monica) was to turn around and take the 5 North, 126 West, 101 South into LA. I started out and when I got to Santa Paula I realized I was crazy. I turned around and went home.

Got family in Yorba Linda right where the fire is, top of Casino Ridge...if the fire keeps spreading, I dont think their neighborhood will make it.

my area got evacuated at around 8pm last night. my house is within visible range of the fire

riverside, loma linda, brea, diamond bar, sylmar all had fires....I was in Jtown and the air sucked balls

I'm in Brea just a couple miles southwest of the evac area (NE of state college/lamber) and the smoke this morning was horrible. Right in line of where it was blowing..could barely see across the street. Better than being in immediate fire danger, but still pretty nasty.

Drove down Imperial hwy this morning and all the streets going north (valencia, rose dr., bastanchury, etc) were closed off by police. People were walking their horses down across Rose Dr. towards Bastanchury. It was odd because fire didn't seem to be close to that area this morning.

I'm in AH and luckily they stopped it right before my house. It's pretty bad out here, places I would have never expected to get burned in a fire got burned.

For next time. The 126 is only about an hour detour if you know what you are doing. When your in Filmore make a left on A. street that turns into grimes canyon. That runs into the 118, then take that to the 405, or take the 118 to the 23 to the 101 if the 118 is closed. p.s. shh its a secret.
