hey guys after waxing my car the other day i realized i got some on my blacked out(plasti dip) grill ring and it doesnt seem to want to come off. Has this happened to anyone else before? any way to fix it without respraying the whole ring?

    Thanks

    Peanut butter. No, really.
That or rubbing alcohol. But I'm not sure how rubbing alcohol will effect the PlastiDip.

did you try peanut butter? I have used PB on black rubberized trim that had wax stuck to it with good results.

    Re: wax on plasti-dip

I had the same thing happen. I never tried peanut butter, but nothing else seemed to work. I ended up just respraying the whole thing. Now I mask off the grill whenever I wax.

    Re: wax on plasti-dip

Just try some tuff-stuff and an old toothbrush. Probably the biggest problem is getting some bristles in there to agitate and dig out the wax. The Plastidip will be resistant to most things, although you won't want to get them on the paint of the hood.

    Re: wax on plasti-dip

I have a secret weapon for wax residue on any surface...

A plain ol' >>>white<<< (important key word here) staedtler eraser.

Just lightly rub the area that has wax on it whether its the black trim, valance, the plastic grills around the fogs, ect... and watch it disappear!
