I work at Les Schwab for a living, and we as a company do not sell the product mainly because if has little TO NO positive effects on a tire.
The nitrogen simply does nothing. A tire is going to reach a certain temperature regardless of the temperature the tire has inside or out. Overtime a tire will lose pressure and eventually the gasses will not be present overtime. People all the time come into my work for a flat tire filled with nitrogen air, and they say "I have a flat tire, and I just pumped it up to get here at the local gas station." So they pay X amount of dollars for the nitrogen fill from Costco that has already leaked out from the tire puncture. Come to Les Schwab for the flat repair, we fix the tire and the guys out in the bays know they have Nitrogen with the nifty green caps they give you. After the flat is fixed we air it back up with COMPRESSED FILTERED air that has NO moisture. We put their nifty green caps back on and there they have it. They paid the X amount of dollars for their nifty green caps which was pointless.
Not to mention we recommend monthly air checks, as tires DO lose air overtime, and as we refill them and mix the nitrogen and regular oxygen together taking away ANY sort of LITTLE benefit nitrogen has, if at all any.
ok first did you read the benies i wrote? If its "crap" why do so many people who track their cars, race or nascar( i hate nascar) fill their tires with it...?
Second your arguing if theres a hole or some hole in the tire to leak out, of course if there is a a way for air to release from teh tire it will, no matter if you filled it with water, pudding (hopefully tapioca, its yummy)
It may not have the biggest benifits but it doees help AND! There is a little service that goes along with it.....
And you may recomend monthly tire check and stuff, but honestly who really does, maybe 60% of the real driving world.
