Map light rattle fix?

Dont know if this is common but both mine and my buddies B6 map light rattles horribly. The little light in the center of the front seats near the sunroof control. I know it is this because if I hold it while I drive there is no rattle. Is this common, and if so any fix? Right now I am about to put some tape up there because it is really annoying.

I stuffed a coin in the crack. Been holding up for quite some time now

i have the same exact problem and it bugs the hell out of me. would be interested to know if someone has a good fix tape would just be wayy to cheap looking

I had this with my b7, took it to the dealership and they fixed it. I think they put insulation on something inside the light. charged me like 20 bucks or so.

I went to the dealership yesterday for the same problem. Figured if I spend 50 on a car, it better be perfect. Turns out is is a common problem and they just take it apart and put a small piece of felt inside it to stop the rattling.

I just took mine apart and used gaffers tape on everything I thought might rattle...been rattle free for 3 years now.

Serenity now!!! This just started happening to me and yes it drives me nuts too. So glad I found this post. Now I have an excuse to go to the garage.

Obviously a common problem.

I just shoved a small piece of double sided foam tape in the crack and the rattle was gone.
