VMR rs4 reps quality?

my wife curbed two of my rims im pretty pissed.

i dont need a lesson on why she shouldnt be driving it either anyhow i have the USP rims now but im thinking about getting some VMR rs4 reps since they are pretty cheap ($700) i was at VW show in memphis and a guy there had rs4 reps on his golf but their quality was shitty. you could see the finish marks and uneven metal and paint.

whose got these and can vouch for them?

I have the 18inch models. V2 I believe. I bought them in Dec 2006.

I have hit many huge holes and what-not on the roads. Drove in a pseudo hurricane in NYC with them hitting things I never saw. Wheels are straight as an arrow. I am very surprised how they have held up from a durability standpoint.

I've got V1's so I don't count. If they fixed the things from the V1's like they say they did, then it isn't a bad wheel. I think mine are a little too soft/weak, but the paint quality and everything is great. I've got two small bends on two different wheels. I run 245's for extra protection, and my car is a fair-weather only car that is babied. So I'm not too happy with that.
They say the V2 is stronger. And of course has the brake clearance that mine don't have. Sometimes it doesn't pay to want to be the first to buy the first version of something, lol.

I've also had 18" VMR (V2) for quite some time, can't remember but whenever they were first released. Agree with Doug, I've hit some potholes and generally banged them up a bit and have had no issues at all. I just had new tires mounted and even at higher speeds I get no vibration or noise at all.

Same here. Just installed some BFG KDW 2s and they still balance fine. Showed no dents and high-speed balanced just fine. The car is still stable in triple digits.

mine are solid, but the finish on two of them isn't so great. the top coating on the wheels has started to wear off near the lug nuts (not due to a wrench or anything) after only a year. i'm not too happy about it but overall the wheels do look great, and they're strong. i'm going to make them my winter set so it doesn't really matter.

I was honestly expecting top notch quality but unfortunately the quality control was lacking. Only one of my wheels was in perfect condition. Outside all of them look good except one that was scratched and a tiny bent on the edge. On the inside there were signs of orange peel, paint runs and even lack of paint on some areas. Charles took care of me but that was after a lot of emailing back and forth and various phone calls. Overall I'm happy with the wheels but I would not buy again sight unseen.

one more thing...even though the long-term finish quality isn't that great i still wouldn't go with Hartmann if i had the choice again. Hartmann RS4 reps are less concave than VMR, thus much of the aggressive look is taken away IMO.

i have a set of the 18" V2 RS4's from VMR. I have been using them as my winter wheels for the past 2 years and they have held up great. They got scratched from the dumbass that mounted the tires, but otherwise they have held up to the colorado, montana & new hampshire winters without issue. The paint quality is good. There were a couple small imperfections, but for the price i can't complain. I really like the fact they are hubcentric and don't require centering rings etc. Also they use oem lug bolts.

Depending on when you purchased the wheels (18 or 19") the price used to range from $699-$999 for a set of 4 wheels. That is a pretty good deal on wheels.

I wasn't aware they offered a set of wheels for $1700. I guess if i was paying $425 a wheel that you spent vs the $200 i spent on my 18's i would be more picky. But for $200 they look pretty good.

My 19's have been great. If the paint ever wears I will just have them painted flat black! Kinda am leaning towards doing that anyways.

One of my wheels you could see on the balance machine was not perfectly rounded but I feel no issues and I would buy these wheels again for any other car I could put them on!!
