What is the 'safe' oil pressure range for a BAT setup?

I've been noticing that my oil pressure numbers have been creeping up and I'm wondering what the safe upper limit for a BAT setup would be?

And any suggestions to what to check that might cause the oil pressure to increase?

Have you changed to a lower viscosity oil recently?

Restriction in flow just before the sensor could potentially cause the higher reading as well. I have no idea where the sensor is located though, so that could be way off base.

Your pressure relief valve in your oil pump sticking can cause oil pressure to build up too high. Or a restriction somewhere in the system. Normal pressure at operating temps is ~60psi iirc. I've seen as high as 100psi. Just test when car is warm not cold. What weight oil you running?

What does your oil pressure look like at idle, part throttle and wot?

Too much is just as bad as to little. I think mine was ~45psi@idle. What have you been seeing?

That seems high unless it was while the engine is cold.

With 10w40 redline oil I always saw around 25psi at idle(at temp), with 0w30 it is below 25psi.

    At idle it is 30-40psi

Just cruising it is around 60psi

    At WOT it is 90+psi

If there a VAG block that measures the oil pressure so I can compare against my gauge?

It ran long enough for me to pull it from the parking lot into the shop, so it wasn't hot. Winston, the rule of thumb is 10psi per every 1000prm. So at 6k you want at least 60psi. 90 sounds a bit high.

Sounds a bit high. Did you try changing the oil out?

With 15w-40 oil mine pegs my 80 psi gauge at cold idle. 32 psi @ warm idle, once I get anywhere over 2500rpm its pegged again. I dont consider it a problem, I built this motor to .002" tight

Dual BB turbos require an oil pressure/flow reducing inline restrictor orifice at the oil supply port connection, and is supplied with the turbo. The actual oil pressure at the turbo (before the restrictor,) oil supply port connection at the turbo will be lower than the main oil gallery pressure, the pressure differential will vary with the oil temp. Any particular reason for concern with your setup? (Not sure if you are interested in the main system pressure or the turbo oil pressure here.)
