Advice on a bunch of cars. PLEASE

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm thinking of getting into something new in the next 1-2 years I know its a while but on the other hand Im to excited. So please help me.

Backgorund on me: My dad is into cars, this means so am I. , Hes an Audi guy so am I. (Just put in a order for an R8) Right now has a C6 A6.

    I'm 20 years old BTW

    18years old B5 S4 6SPD
19years ol B6 USP Tip current

    Price range 25K

For my grad present (early again)(college) I want to get a different car I will be paying for some of it. Again its a present. So onto the choices:

    C6 A6 2005-
3.2 Pros- Adult car, pretty quick for what it is, or compared to my USP. Interior and Nav all looks nice. New body style.
Cons- Not sure if I would be happy with the quickness of the car.

4.2- Pros-Quicker than the 3.2, looks the same, would be staying with the rings.
Cons- V8 in an Auto luxury sedan. I could get a B6 S4.

    Mods= Tint, springs, Subs^

    B6 S4
Pros- S4 something everyone in my college thinks I have now. Quick, V8 sound, 6SPD!!, Wouldn't have to mod it since its to expansive.
Cons- Gas, bc of the way I drive. could have faster cars with better mpg, and less expansive to mantain.

Mods= Tint, blackout grills, subs from my current car. ^

    Lexus IS350
Pros- like the look and not to many people have them here in the burbs everyone has an IS250 lol. RWD V6=no mods!!
Cons- Auto, havent driven one, any input would help!!

    Mods- Tint, coilovers, Subs^

    Evo 9
Pros- Very fast, not to many people have them where I live, 6SPD, I like the looks. Japanese car, cheap to maintain hopefully.
Cons- not sure about interior sice all I have driven is Audi not sure if I would miss it., I guess.
Mods- Tint and subs, also headunit. NOTHING ELSE yes I'm serious, Paul Walker mod.

    Infiniti G35 coupe
Pros- 07 I can pretty much pick everything I want in it, 6SPD, cheap for a newer year. Exhaust note...love it. RWD
    Cons- Not sure haha
MODS- if black then black out eveything on it, SUBS.

    E46 330Ci ZHP
Pros- Love the way it looks USP version but a BMW, good handling, good power stock. 6SPD although I would go with Auto. RWD coupe
    Cons- look maybe outdated.
    Mods- tint subs nothing else.

So as you can see I want a car that I dont have to MOD performance wise. I like the G35 for the year an warranty, power, and theres so many I can choose from, one with nav, 6spd and color that I want. Evo 9 just a badass car I can be Paul Walker...how you like them apples!!! (while driving backwards on the highway) ZHP BMW coupe really want to try a two door, RWD, just not sure if its going to look dated in a year or so...but ZHP love the way it looks....

Why subs bc I have them in my car now and would just put them in the next car. Again any input on the following cars would help. I want something quicker than the A4 but something that I dont have to mod. Any other car suggestions? Also on most of these car I can work on

Please dont tell me invest or things not car related, I'm not getting anything else this was told to me by my parents.......and I love it.

    THANKS to all!!

Re: Advice on a bunch of cars. PLEASE

I'd say look into the Lexus, personally. I havent been in a IS350, but my buddy bought an IS300 a while back, and it has been a great car. Good ride, nice interior, and there's just something about the car I genuinely like. His was "Tiptronic" too, and the quickness of the shifts was similar to my B5 30V. Like I said I havent been in an IS350, but I can only imagine they are considerably better than the IS300's, and I do like my friend's. I love my Audi too, but she's going up on the ol' Auction block... I've got too many cars, and sometimes the one that nickel and dimes you to death has to go. And I'm actually looking at buying another car next week, because my girlfriend wants to build herself a car (with my help of course). We are thinking B20/V Turb'd EK for her.

test drive some cars, your mind will change about 1 million times before your 22 on what you want to get, so it really won't matter what we say now.

Re: Advice on a bunch of cars. PLEASE

in 2 years the prices on those cars will drastically change and so will your outlook on what you want out of a car.

so i don't see the point to this thread really.

and you "want performance" but you don't want to mod the Evo 9?

are you serious. that car is impossible to not mod. im serious. i have never seen a stock evo.

even the sales guys mod them for fun when they sit at the dealership for over a week

Re: Advice on a bunch of cars. PLEASE

check my.is there's a bunch of information on is350's, and mods are definitely there for the car. there are also superchargers that are out for the is250's (and you can get those in AWD or Manual)

my mom just got an is250 awd, and it's actually a pretty fun car to drive. it's very small on the inside (i'm 6'0") but the car fits like a glove. if you find yourself hauling people in the back seat a lot, i'd say the car's a little too small for that. the seats can be either heated or air conditioned, which is always a plus. i personally really like the look of the car, but i'm also a toyota fan, so maybe i'm a little biased.

i do like my b7 a4 much more than the is250, but i think i would like the is350 better if it had AWD. if there's a carmax near where you live, you might be able to test drive all of the cars you're interested in, and even check out some others that you haven't thought of as "potential"

you're still young, and considering you've already been through 2 cars in the past 2 years, you might as well get something cheaper and fun before you get into a bigger car. You don't have a family and you're probably busy worrying about how many hoodrats you can pick up in your ride, so i'd recommend the bimmer for your "image".

in the case that i'm totally off about my preconcieved opinion on your current disposition, for your age and fun factor, i'd personally go for a evo 9; you can always get back into luxury later. Unless you plan on keeping this car for a while, then i'd look for an e46 m3

Haha yeah the hoodrats is about right they like my car because it's red so its "cute" haha, but I dont base my decision on what others drive even though I am asking advice on it.I want something that I can be happy with right out of the box. And yes I would keep this car till I am able to buy a car by myself. So I guess I should put the e46 M3 on the list as well.

How does he like it, manual or SMG? I've been reading about them, the SMG seems to be a love it or hate it option, clunky and may give out with high mileage something like that? But I do like the idea of it. But I do want to get back to a 6spd.

haha I'll give you that, you did put the cars pros in a different way, and I like the body style a lot. I do feel as I could pick up a 05.5 in a year or so for the price of B6's now.
