    Radio Not Working?

Hey does anyone know why my radio stops working and goes in to safe mode. Then after being in safe mode it loses power to the radio. I brought the car into Audi once and they put a new radio in, but the something happen to the new one. Audi then put back in my old radio and had it working. After a week the radio went back into safe mode and then lost power to the radio.

I have a 2001 1.8T with the CD Tape player radio.

Check your connections - you might have a loose power wire

My first thought as well.. I'd almost bet on it. Or if it's not loose it might just have gone bad.

    Re: Radio Not Working?

Try pulling the radio out with the connectors still attached to it, then, with the power on, try wiggling your connectors around and see if the radio goes into safe mode or cuts out all together.

Also check to make sure the fuse is seated all the way inside the fuse box - you may even try replacing the fuse while you're there

Are you noticing the radio going into safe mode, or losing power whenever you hit a bump or rough road? Try to take notice of things like that - it'll help you in your diagnosis
