    YES! im STAGE 2+ now!!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i was runnin my GIAC for quite a while by itself... but this past weekend i got my full exhaust put on! this will definately keep me company til i got stg3. it seems like it spools up YESTERDAY and has a sweet tone to it. purchase of the exhaust made possible on AZ

are there ballpark numbers or times i can expect with this setup? just wonderin, cause our track is closed for the year, and no AWD dyno in town

    2001.5 S4 6spd
    GIAC
    Labree split downpipes
Borla cat-back (with test pipes at the moment)
    RS4 clutch

so... whats next? aside from the obvious stg 3 save-up. VAST water/meth?

    pics up. sound clip soon!!!

Awesome man, sounds great... Stage 1 to 2+ is for sure a big difference. The added flow from the downpipes is a huge benefit... W/M will make a great difference as well, what's your IC setup?

    next? i recommend BF SMIC's.

I remember reading that stock inter coolers have a 2psi drop between the inlet and outlet at full throttle, not sure how much truth there is to that, but I do believe they are not the most free flowing.
the B5 S4 is like the mafia... there is only one way out!

Get a true dual exhaust. Soo much better than a single set up.

Welcome to the club! I recently joined too...

Did you do DP/Exhaust install yourself?
    Suspension upgrade?
    SMICs?

My next project will either be K04 (minus SMIC) setup or suspension upgrade. I feel like my shocks are about to die.

I prefer a single setup myself...I think it sounds so much better than a dual setup imo.

Re: YES! im STAGE 2+ now!!!

didnt do the install myself. i have neither the tools, time, or know how to have done it myself. took it to WMS. (glad i did too, got to see a B5 rs4 there gettin some work done!)

anyway, im running stock IC. i heard/read that ER ICs are pretty top tier, but hard to come by. i have the samco TBB and some 710ns, boost gauge, and the coolant temp sensor. clutch went out last year, so i figure RS4 was a smart choice. NO suspension or brake work or intake. gotta do front control arms here kinda soon though, like, now-ish.

gunna try some toluene next time im "out and about".

I agree. NA's can have true duals and have an awesome sound. Turbo motors with duals sound... strange.

Bang for buck. go with JHM FMIC. Youre a cali guy and suffer from the same heatsoak I did.

It'll fit behind your stock bumper with plenty of chopping of course. But you can go much stealthier than my Rieger bumper.

Even if youre not stage 3 this is a GOOD idea.

I have Giac X plus piggies and borla cat back single 3inch. I ran a 13.5 @ 103 in the spring, but the clutch can't hold off the line at higher RPMs. You should be somewhere in the low to mid 13s with a good clutch, my 60 was horrible...

Re: YES! im STAGE 2+ now!!!

if the srt4 has a big turbo, just race him from a dig and stop at 20mph so he doesnt spool haha (kidding of course)

get some coilovers, intercooler of your choice (ERs are $$$$),and obviously do a CC mod if you havent already (here comes fighting)...then maybe JHM solid shifter,DTS from AWE or ASP,snub/motor/trans mounts, etc

I would like to think that comment would be highly disputed; considering asp is prob one of the best sounded ots exhaust available
